Pilates Reformer

Following my professional dance career (and after a long hiatus away from the limelight), it was inevitable that I return to the studio to retrain as an educator. I began my teaching career after completing Level 3 Mat Pilates with the Pilates Institute London and attaining my Professional Dancers Teaching Diploma at the Royal Academy of Dance, both in 2010. While in the UK, I also completed my Exercise to Music Level 2 and spent several years teaching Pilates, Zumba, dance and various other group fitness modalities in gyms and boutique studios.

In the competitive fitness arena, I’ve represented NZ at the World Pole Fitness Competition, London and the Femsport Women’s Strength & Fitness Challenge, Vancouver. After 21 physique events, having gained several titles across multiple federations, I concluded my international fitness career upon winning a gold medal at the 2015 INBA Natural Olympia in Las Vegas (Masters Fitness).

Inspired by its incredible ability to command concentration and demand precision performance, I cannot endorse its value highly enough. I trust the Reformer and appreciate its uniqueness. As an adjunct to other fitness disciplines, spending time regularly on the Reformer will help restore your body to a natural sense of movement, thus creating that which Joseph Pilates set out to achieve; uniform development – equilibrium of mind, body and soul.

What qualifications and experience do you have?

In 2014 I spent several months in Canada furthering my Pilates education before completing formal qualifications upon my return to NZ through Peak Pilates (MVe Reformer) and Core Pilates NYC (Allyson Donnelly, Wellington). Additionally, in 2016 I spent time in Australia extending my knowledge by attending multiple Pilates studios as a student and completed supplementary training through Pure Form Pilates with Marina Perry, founder of Pure Health Clubs in Brisbane.
