13th of May 2020
Following the PM’s announcement on Monday that the country will be moving to Alert Level 2, we’re very happy to let you know that we’ll be open for business from this Friday 15th May.
However, due to the Ministry of Health guidelines, it won’t quite be business as usual. Here’s what you need to know:
Restarting your membership dues.
With the gym reopening this Friday, all membership dues will restart from 23rd May on your normal billing date. If you have any queries, please contact email@example.com
- Monday to Friday (normal hours) 5:30am to 9:00pm
- Saturday (normal hours) 7:00am – 7:00pm
- Sunday (shorter hours) 9:00am – 4:00pm
Locker rooms and showers:
In order to comply with physical distancing rules, only half the showers and a limited number of lockers will be made available, and this will be closely monitored initially to ensure it’s a workable solution.
Because of this, we ask that if you’re able to shower at home, please do so. This will help those that absolutely require showering before leaving for work.
X-Force™, Level 2’s safest (and hardest) workout in the world.
X-Force™ at BodyTech ticks all the boxes for keeping you safe during your Alert Level 2 workouts while getting all the benefits of negative training – more strength, more muscle and less fat. Here’s why:
- X-Force personal trainers control the flow of members entering their routines, so they can ensure 2 metres physical distancing between them is maintained
- each and every machine is sanitised before you engage with it
- every machine is set up for you by a skilled trainer who’ll personally supervise your entire full body routine, from start to finish.
No other gym in the world can match the safety and effectiveness of X-Force™ negative training at BodyTech.
Guaranteed One-on-One X-Force™ entry:
If you need a guaranteed start time, we’ll be introducing X-ForcePT™ - a new online way to reserve your X-Force workout with an assigned Personal Trainer. A nominal extra cost per session will apply. Please get in touch with sales or reception to find out more.
We will be recommencing Pilates and Yoga classes on Friday 15th May and all other classes will resume from Monday 18th May (excluding Supervised Strike).
Classes will be on a reduced schedule with limited spaces during level 2.
Due to the requirement of physical distancing, we have reduced the number of available cardio machines by half.
Free Weights and the Supplementary Area:
Majority of the equipment will be available. There will be an expected requirement of all members, guests and staff to abide by the COVID-19 rules in regard to hand sanitisation and equipment cleaning.

LEVEL 2 UPDATE FOR OUR MEMBERS
At this time we are unable to inform you of a set date we will be opening our facility.
We are working hard to ensure we have covered all safety and precautionary guidelines, under which gyms are permitted to operate at Level 2. Your safety is paramount to us. We will be corresponding with all members via email in the next day or so.
Please check your inbox for this email and if it is not received, perhaps check your junk/spam folders as well.
Has your email address changed in the last 2 months? If so, please email firstname.lastname@example.org your current email address so we can update our database, to ensure you receive our communications.
We know it’s been a long wait, affecting us all greatly and appreciate your patience and cooperation in abiding by the new rules of Level 2.
We look forward to working you out soon as we're able.
Stay safe and stay strong!

Recognising the need to help our members maintain their hard-earned strength and conditioning results, our fitness department has come up with a negative training workout that you can do at home two to three times per week. That way you won’t feel like you’ve taken a break from your weekly HIT at all!

We are continuing to closely follow the most recent guidelines issued by the Government and the Ministry of Health. In line with this, and effective immediately, we will be limiting numbers on our gym floor to no more than 100 (which includes Yoga and Pilates).
In the interests of social distancing and the health of our members we will also be making the following changes to our classes, effective immediately:
- All Strike classes cancelled until further notice
- Spin class numbers limited to maximum of 8 people
- Bravo classes limited to maximum of 5 people
- Pilates/Yoga classes limited to maximum of 15 people.
We’ll update you shortly with exactly how we propose managing these restrictions, and any other changes to our access and procedures, so please check back here regularly.
Thanks for your patience and consideration during this extraordinary time. Stay well.
These are extraordinary times and, as a valued BodyTech member, we wanted to reassure you that we’re doing everything in our power to keep your gym visits safe. We’ve always been committed to exemplary gym hygiene but as a result of Coronavirus we are, in consultation with a clinical infectious diseases professional, taking extra measures to further increase the hygiene level of our facilities and equipment. As a result we’ve upgraded our cleaning products to two recommended hospital grade cleaner + sanitiser products for both facilities and exercise equipment. And as an extra precaution we’ve also doubled the frequency of our deep cleaning schedule, especially to all grab and touch surfaces (sinks, taps, digital locks, showers, toilets, doors, hair dryers, irons and lockers and bench tops).
Keeping you resilient and germ free
Our staff are
Doing additional and frequent cleaning of equipment handles, seats and /or frames using a registered anti-microbiological sanitiser, Oxivir® Tb and Virex ii j-flex™ quaternary-based hospital grade cleaner that’s powerful enough to kill Covid-19.
Wiping down equipment in both Bravo® and Ride® studios, mats and equpment in stretching area, and yoga mats using Virex ii j-flex™ hospital grade cleaner (we encourage you to bring your own mats and towels).
Using gym floor hand sanitisers between each member trained on X-Force™ routines.
Changing out equipment cleaning towels with higher frequency.
Not greeting with a handshake and high-fives. However, you can still count on our warm and friendly smiles!
We ask that you
Please wash your hands upon your arrival, and use gym floor hand sanitiser station.
Stay home from the gym (even if its just for a steam or sauna) if you or someone in you household is sick.
Bring your own yoga mat and towel for class.
Wipe down yoga mats before and after use.
Wipe down your equipment (cardio & strength machines) before and after use.
Have a personal sweat towel with you at all times.
Bring your own boxing gloves and wraps. We are discontinuing this service until further notice.
Keep your immune system RESILIENT by staying committed to your weekly exercise regime.
We’ve also put in place a more robust staff sickness policy to ensure that they don’t come to work if they feel sick or fall ill. We’ll keep you updated with any further changes to our procedures, but in the meantime, stay well. Remember, you can get the latest information, updates and advice at www.health.govt.nz/coronavirus
